This is one of several linocut proofs based on an untitled 1964 wall hanging by Oonark (see Blodgett and Bouchard, Jessie Oonark: A Retrospective, WAG, 1986, p. 99), or more precisely, based on the upper right quadrant of that hanging. Note that this version, printed in black, differs in both colour and paper size from the proof illustrated in the WAG catalogue. Also, while this proof is untitled, it has been titled according to the inscription on that other version. Provenance: Purchased in Baker Lake ca. 1965-66.
