Lot description - from the online catalogue*

Provenance:
Private collection, Montréal
Notes:
Yehouda Chaki paints captivating landscapes that combine elements of the real world with pure, visceral expressions of his innermost consciousness. Imbued with a profound emotional and spiritual reflection, Chaki's paintings convey far more than the literal subject depicted. Presenting the viewer with a lively contrast of blues, ochres, oranges, and greens, Spring Landscape is a remarkably eloquent example of Chaki's ability to heighten the viewer's senses through bold chromatic juxtapositions and dramatic, rhythmic brushwork. The impulsive and gestural application of paint conveys his emotional state, while his imaginatively expressive forms result in an intellectually charged fusion of style and content.

Chaki's work can be found in numerous Canadian and international collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts of Montreal, the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Musée d'art et d'histoire du judaïsme in Paris.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
