Notes:
Ulayu Pingwartok was born in 1904 in Lake Harbour (Kimmirut), Baffin Island, Nunavut. She moved to Cape Dorset in 1959 where she began creating drawings. She created over seven hundred drawings, thirty of which were treated as prints for the Cape Dorset annual print collections. Ulayu's work was exhibited many times throughout Canada, and can be found in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Canada, Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto), Canadian Museum of Civilization (Hull) Winnipeg Art Gallery, Glenbow Museum (Calgary), Remai Modern (Saskatoon) and the McMichael Collection of Canadian Art. Ulayu Pingwartok died in 1978.
