Lot description - from the online catalogue*

Simon Tookoome, a respected Inuit leader and renowned artist, was born in Chantrey Inlet, Nunavut in 1934. He grew up in the traditional life on the land before moving into a settlement in Baker Lake in 1968. He was a self-taught carver, but found his truest expression in drawing, often depicting his experiences of living on the land. As a printmaker, Simon Tookoome produced the blocks himself for most of his prints. For decades he participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally, and contributed to the annual Baker Lake print collections from 1971 to 1990. Simon Tookoome died in Baker Lake, Nunavut in 2010.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
