Canadian contemporary artist Shelley Adler brings new depth and astute observation to the long stranding tradition of figurative painting. Focusing on the human form, especially portraiture, her artwork offers a deeply personal and genuine connection to its subjects through candid poses. At times mysterious, yet equally inviting, Adler’s sitters come alive through a delicate colour palette and masterful play with light and shadow.
