Provenance:
From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina). This print can be found in several important collections including the British Museum (London) and the Flemish Institute for Archives (Belgium).
Notes:
Schelte Adamsz Bolswert was born in Bolsward, Netherlands, in 1586. As a young man he moved to Amsterdam where he and his older brother became leading engravers, including for Peter Paul Rubens. Schelte Adamsz Bolswert died in 1659 in Antwerp.
