Provenance:
Galería Begoña Malone, Spain / Espagne
Notes:
Born in Spain in 1965, Salustiano studied at the University of Sevilla, where he lives and works. He is known for his portraits characterized by the expression of his subjects as well as the bold saturated paintings grouped into red, black and white colour themed series. Salustiano paints using pigment made from the Cochineal beetle. This pigment was used by the Native people in South American and brought over to Europe by the Spaniards. Salustiano’s portraits are seemingly timeless, with both contemporary and classical themes depicted, sometimes even within a single painting itself, as can be seen in Untitled, from 2005.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
