Sadko Hadzihasanovic studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia, earned his MFA at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia (1984), arriving in Canada in 1993.
Hadzihasanovic's multimedia works are acrylic and oil portraits interspersed with collage, drawings, silk screen prints, and found objects. Engaging in satirical commentaries of North American consumer culture, the artist analyzes and deconstructs constructions of masculinity with imagery from popular culture. Through his use of wallpaper, he questions stereotypes of masculinity and femininity.
