Provenance:

Notes:
Sadequain is considered to be one of the finest artists Pakistan has ever produced. He is best known for bringing calligraphy into a mainstream art form in Pakistan and for his monumental murals for public buildings. His murals functioned as social commentaries, representing the human desire to develop the limitless potential that lies within.
Sadequain did not believe in amassing possessions, so becoming wealthy was not something of concern to him. He much preferred to gift paintings to people, rather than selling his works. Couple in an Embrace was given as a gift to the present owner's step-father in the late 1950s prior to leaving his posting in Karachi, where he worked as a representative for Pan American Airways.
Accompanying this work is a Verification Certificate from the Sadequain Foundation
