Russell Noganosh was born in 1956 in Magnetawan First Nation, southern Ontario. He is largely as self-taught artist but in his twenties he was mentored and guided by artist Isaac Bignell. While working with Bignell, Noganosh developed the sponge technique for applying acrylic paint which he often uses to add texture to his work. In 1984 the Manitoban Bison Alumi Association named Noganosh the Artist of the Year, and in 1988 his painting was chosen for the cover of Art of the Nehiyawak, a book about the art and craft of the Woods Cree.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
