Notes:
Robert Linsley, was known for his colourful abstract paintings, in addition to writing and teaching. Originally born in Winnipeg, Linsley moved to Vancouver, where he later studied at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. The artist then moved to Kitchener to teach at the University of Waterloo in 2002. "Robert was an exceptional artist, writer, critic and theorist," said Bogusky, former director general of the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, "...He also inspired great enthusiasm from his students." Linsley had solo exhibitions of his work in Germany, Spain and across Canada and his work was part of group exhibitions in New York City and Berlin. His art is included in public collections across Canada. Linsley was also a popular speaker at art symposiums, as he was highly regarded as an innovative and influential figure in the Canadian art world.
