Being sold on behalf of Prairie Mentoring Centre for Therapeutic Riding, with 90% of the winning bid going to this Saskatchewan charity.
Notes:
Robert E. Wood was born in Weston, Ontario, in 1918. He studied painting with Frederick Varley and J.W. Beatty at the Ontario College of Art, in Toronto. Wood later traveled to the Canadian arctic, and moved to British Columbia in the late 1940s, and focuses on landscapes and other rural scenes. In the late 1950s he founded the Victoria Society of Artists. His works can be found in many important collections, including the National Gallery of Canada.
