Being sold on behalf of Prairie Mentoring Centre for Therapeutic Riding, with 90% of the winning bid going to this Saskatchewan charity.
Notes:
Robert Davidson was born in 1946 in Hydaburg, Alaska, grandson fo the Haida artist Florence Davidson. As a child he moved with his family to the Haida village of Masset, British Columbia, on Haida Gwaii, and attended high school in Vancouver. In 1966 he began apprenticing with master carver Bill Reid, and in 1967 began studies at the Vancouver School of Art. Davidson's works can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
