Rita Briansky was born in Grajewa, Poland and emigrated to Canada with her family at the age of four. She studied art at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, l'Ecole des Beaux-Artes and the New York Art Student's League. Her works have been shown in Canada, the U. S., France and elsewhere. Briansky's work is held in numerous private collections, including the National Gallery, Ottawa and the Mendel Gallery in Saskatoon. She lives in Montreal where she continues to paint and lecture.
