Being sold on behalf of Prairie Mentoring Centre for Therapeutic Riding, with 90% of the winning bid going to this Saskatchewan charity.
Notes:
Richard Freeman was born in 1932 Leicester, England. He studied at Leicester College of Art and Design. After serving in British Royal Air Force, Freeman emigrated to Canada in 1955 at the age of twenty three. He spent time in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Calgary, before moving to De Winton, Alberta, in 1970, where he had a small ranch and devoted himself to painting, focusing on depictions of cowboys and the western lifestyle. In 1974 he moved to Peachland, British Columbia, painting full time. Richard Freeman died of cancer in 1991, in Peachland, British Columbia.
