Notes:
Rene Thibault was born in Ponteix, Saskatchewan in 1947 and raised in the communities of Debden and Prince Albert. After high school he studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary) graduating with a Diploma of Applied Arts in 1969. For decades Thibault specialized in architectural illustration, while also working on his own painting projects. He began showing his personal work in the late 1980s, exhibiting with commercial galleries and participating in group exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally. His work can be found the the permanent collections of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies (Banff), Alberta Foundation for the Arts (Edmonton) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.
