Provenance:
Gallery Moos Ltd., Toronto

Private Collection, Ontario
Notes:
Though firmly rooted in photography, Ray Charles White's work can often drift into abstraction, untethering from the familiar. Born in Toronto in 1961, the artist studied with Ansel Adams in Yosemite before beginning a career as a photographer for Andy Warhol's "InterviewÁ magazine. This particular image shows an oakleaf, but mirrored against itself, imbuing the familiar shape with freshness. The serenity of this natural form is balanced by a compositional tension, as if the segments of leaf are being stretched towards the edge of the frame.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
