Clyde River
Qaunaq Palluq was born in Igloolik. He moved to the Clyde River area where he married a daughter of the well known sculptor Davidee Piungituq and lived at Piungituq's camp on Sam Ford Fjord, one of the most spectacular places in the Arctic. As is well known, whale bone is one of the most suggestive carving materials; Qaunaq found a particularly beautiful piece of bone and in turn sculpted a suggestive work of art, which some have suggested might be more aptly titled Coupling.
