Provenance:
Private Collection, Toronto
Notes:
Philip Sybal has been painting professionally since 1971 after studying art in Toronto, Canada and Florence, Italy (including being taught by Doris McCarthy during the late 1960s). Sybal established his unique form of realism without the aid of any photography but by exploring the mystery of the Land, the Sea and the Sky through sketches. His works are influenced by light and all its variations. Philip Sybal’s paintings are in numerous private collections, as well as extensive corporate and institutional collections throughout North America, including Altamira, the Art Gallery of Peel, CIBC, Dupont, Loblaws Co. Ltd., the McCord Museum, Metro Toronto News, Royal Bank of Canada, Skydome Corp. (Rogers Centre) and Texaco. In 1986, Philip was inducted into the Ontario Society of Artists and was featured in the "International Artist Magazine" January 2001 issue.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
