Note: Working as a freelance artist, specializing in poster design, Trompf obtained work with the Australian Travel Association and Victorian Railways. After gaining notoriety in Australia, he attracted attention in both Britain and North America. In 1938, he was commissioned by the CP Rail to design a poster of Banff. His colourful and optimistic images had wide appeal, especially during the Depression. Trompf supervised all stages of production, including the printing.
