Being sold on behalf of Prairie Mentoring Centre for Therapeutic Riding, with 90% of the winning bid going to this Saskatchewan charity.
Notes:
Ovide Bighetty was born in 1969 on the Pukatawagan First Nation, northern Manitoba. He was influenced by the Woodland art style of Norval Morrisseau, and infused his work with spirituality, symbolism, and legends. In the early 2000s Bighetty created several projects with the Indigenous Christian Fellowship, in Regina, Saskatchewan, including a mural and a series of 17 paintings entitled 'Kisemanito Pakitinasuwin -- The Creator's Sacrifice' which has toured widely across Canada. Ovide Bighetty died in 2014, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
