Notes:
Norman Laliberte was born in Worchester, MA in 1925 and his family returned to their hometown of Montreal when he was about one year old. His initial art education was at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts School of Art and Design. While there he read about the Institute of Design in Chicago. Transferring there he received a bachelor's degree, a masters, and a doctorate from the institute, which is now the IIT Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Over the years Laliberte taught at the Kansas City Art Institute, Boston College, the University of Notre Dame, and the Rhode Island School of Design.
