Norman Denkman was born in 1925 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He graduate from the University of British Columbia and continued his study of watercolour in Australia. He lived most of his life in Vancouver, and specializing in depicting city scenes and coastal and mountain landscapes. Norman Denkman died in 1999 in Vancouver.
