Provenance:
Includes a copy of 1985 receipt from Craddock and Barnard (London UK). From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina). This image is also in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Notes:
Nicolaes Pieterszoon Berchem was born in 1620 in Haarlem, Dutch Republic. He was part of the second generation of Italian-influenced Dutch landscape painters, and often featured pastoral landscapes and mythological or biblical figures in his paintings, drawings and etchings. He died in 1683 in Amsterdam.
