Nandor Horthy was born in Hungary in 1927 and emigrated to Canada in 1957 following the Hungarian Revolution. He settled in Toronto, Ontario, where he continued his career as a professional saxophonist while also pursuing his visual art and taking art classes. Eventually he devoted himself fully to art making, exhibiting his art widely across Canada and the United States, and becoming an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists. He also served as the president of the Hungarian Visual Artists of Canada. Nandor Horthy lives in Toronto, Ontario.
