Provenance:
From the collection of Dr. Alan Ross, Regina.
Notes:
Myrna Harris was a Saskatchewan artist and craftsperson, best known for her work in felted wool, often prairie landscapes. She married a farmer from the Landis area and raised four children. As the children grew older, she began to take community classes in painting, drawing and pottery, and for ten years concentrated on working with clay. She became tired of the physical stress involved in potting and began experimenting with fabrics. She dyed her own raw wool and also used recycled blankets, towels and sweaters to achieve the texture she was looking for. She was one of the original founders of Saskatoon's Pacific Gallery and in 1995 was awarded the Saskatchewan Premier's Prize for one of her landscapes. She passed away in Landis, Saskatchewan in 2009.
