Notes:
"Yewdale used oil painting on canvas, an 'old art' form, to visually record a new reality... (her) literal immersion in her subject matter, as described above by herself, for three hours each day, was a performance - like a dance or a meditation - which surrenders all controls to the act of representation. The props were all there, including the gumboots. After each 'performance', the spent canvas was brought to the studio and stacked with others. It was finished."
