Mike Keepness was a Cree artist who grew up on the Pasqua First Nation in the Qu'Appelle Valley region of southern Saskatchewan. The area was a constant inspiration for him. He created the illustrations for the book 'Honouring the Buffalo : A Plains Cree Legend'.
