Lot description - from the online catalogue*
		 		Provenance:
Private Collection, Montreal
Notes:
Prolific painter, printmaker and collage artist, Michael Clague transforms his experiences and views on the human condition in his series, The 12 Confessions of the Falling Man. Clague was awarded a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts this year, allowing him to expand on his "Falling Man" collection which will be the content for a forthcoming solo exhibition. In Red Sky at Night (2014), a work from the series depicting an isolated and uncontrolled free-falling man, is Clague's attempt to open a dialogue on mental health. The frenetically-painted figure, descending from the canvas' edge toward a desolate collaged landscape, lends the work an introspective quality.
