ARTIST STATEMENT

The day I discovered art, while living in an isolated country house in France, I became who I am today: an artist who creates work based on color theory and healing with colors. My body of work ranges from representational to abstraction and includes painting as well as jewelry.

Alia Prima works best for me. The artist Nikki de Saint Phalle influences me with her colorful palette as well as with her quest for randomness. I work fast to express a particular moment, an emotion or an impression.

My paintings, generally acrylics, vary in size. I work on them with large brushes. Additionally, in case I have prepared too much paint, I move a soft roller on the palette and then roll it out on a primed paper. The result are surprising patterns and unusual shapes. I call these my "secondary" paintings.

Through the creative process I am more aware of the world around me and better aware of the world inside me. I find it similar to meditation and very complementary to my daily yoga practice. Each work expresses my positive attitude towards life. My art is my guide.
