Notes:
Marion Wagschal was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, in 1943. Wagschal is a painter who has pursued a unique idiom of empathetic figuration. Through her exemplary career, she has developed a realism that encompasses allegory and mythology. The painting offered here is one of her rare egg temperas, an exquisite and unflinching portrait of the Canadian poet Peter van Toorn. It is one of her strongest and most revealing works.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
