Lot description - from the online catalogue*
Marion McClanahan was born in 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and traveled throughout the US and Europe with her family. The subjects for her paintings and prints are typically everyday moments and everyday views, perhaps captured within an uncommon framing, and with an spontaneity and freshness of direct original vision. David Shirey wrote in the New York Times of her 1972 show at Graham Gallery that he found the work "sparkling with sunlight, warmth and joy." McClanahan has solo shows at Galerie Chardin (Paris), Drian Galleries (London) and Wood-McCann Gallery (Lexington), among others. Marion McClanahan died in 1993.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
