In 1933 Marion Long became the second woman designated a full member of the Royal Canadian Academy. A label on verso dated 1938 suggests that this charming view of Toronto looking west towards the Royal York Hotel may have been shown in an exhibition referred to in a review by Richard Haviland. The writer comments on the popularity of her small street scenes, stating "Most artists who want to paint such scenes go to Paris, London, or other cities.but not Miss Long. She has been able to find all the material she wants right in Toronto."
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
