From the Briercrest College Art Collection. Proceeds go to the Briercrest College Scholarship Fund. This artwork has a 1998 certificate of appraisal with a fair market evaluation of $800.
Notes:
Marina Popova was born in Moscow in 1949 and emigrated to Canada in 1979. She paints in abstract and geometric forms which can be seen as a form of rebellion against the Russian Brezhnev era which favoured representational art and viewed abstractionism as revolutionary and dangerous.
