Notes:
Margaret Orr was born in 1962 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. But Orr grew up in Chisasibi (formerly Fort George) in Northwestern Quebec, where she learned traditional ways from her mother and other relatives, including hunting, fishing, building shelters and how to live on the land. She has a diploma in Fine Arts from Heritage College (Gatineau) and a 2019 Master of Fine Arts from the University of Regina. Margaret Orr now lives in Ouje-Bougoumou, Quebec, and teaches at Aanischaaukamikw, the Cree Cultural Institute.
