Notes:
Manley Lafoy was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent his youth on a farm Near Grey, Sask. He studied under Regina artist Laura Lamont and attended the Banff School of Fine Art Summer School in 1951. While taking university entrance classes he studied briefly under Art MacKay and Ken Lochead. He graduated with a Bach. Degree in Architecture from the University of Manitoba in 1961. While practicing as an Architect he pursued his interest in art, and in 1983 he began to focus more seriously on his art as a career. His ambition was to record the disappearing rural scene, primarily through watercolour. His work often features the towering sky of Saskatchewan in an effort to document passing of the seasons. In 1983 he moved to British Columbia and undertook the challenge of capturing the coastal light, as well as completing prairie works begun earlier.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
