Born in 1947 in Rosenfeld , Manitoba , Luther Pokrant received his BFA degree at the University of Manitoba School of Art and his Master of Arts degree from New Mexico State University . He was a lecturer at the University of Regina for four years, and is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. His work is inspired by the natural beauty of Manitoba . He enjoys canoeing and fishing. Water lily compositions are favorite painting subjects. His illustration work is thematic or historical, often of other artists or their work, or the creative process itself. He has exhibited extensively across Canada in solo and group shows, and his work is represented in numerous private and public collections.
