Lot description - from the online catalogue*

Provenance:
Private collection, Montréal
Notes:
Dalaï-lama (2015) and Leonard Cohen (2016) are two portraits in Louis Boudreault's Destinée series, in which the artist presents an intimate view into some of the twentieth century's principal personalities. In choosing to represent them as children or young adolescents, Boudreault invites us to take a fresh look at these ubiquitous faces, whose fame inhibits us from imagining them at a more vulnerable age. Boudreault was born in 1956 in Havre-Aubert (Magdalen Islands). After studying literature and theatre, he set off for France and enrolled in the École du Louvre. Upon finishing his studies, he began working as an art consultant and contributed to the development of many important collections. Since 1991, he has devoted himself full-time to his art practice. Boudreault has lived and worked in Montreal since 1998.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
