This print was alternately titled Birds Over the Sun. Please note that in this version of the print the stenciled sun is "higher in the sky" than in some other examples. Also the artist's chop and WBEC stamp are on the left side in this version. For an alternate version, see Norman Vorano, Inuit Prints: Japanese Inspiration (CMC, 2011, p. 87). Sandra Barz notes that there was no printer's chop. Provenance: Purchased in Cape Dorset at the WBEC. Accompanying the print is a sales slip written by James Houston for the original owner. This print was one of the first to be sold locally through the co-op rather than in galleries in the South.
