Kenneth Samuelsen was born in Calgary in 1936. He studied at the Alberta College of Art (1958) and with Andrew Stasik at the University of Calgary (1969). His work is largely in watercolour, silkscreen and linocut, and he is best known for brightly-coloured, minimalist and geometric abstract mountain landscapes near Banff and and for coastal scenes near Victoria, BC. He was the co-owner of KB Graphic Designers, Calgary, and taught at the Alberta College of Art and Design from 1968 to 1996. Kenneth Samuelson died in Calgary in November 2021.
