Keith Bird was born in 1955 in Lestock, Saskatchewan, of Cree and Saulteaux descent. He grew up on the Gordon First Nation, near Punnichy, Saskatchewan. Bird received a BFA from the University of Regina in 2008, and an MFA in 2013. Bird's work has been widely exhibited, including solo shows at the Dunlop Art Gallery (Regina), the Plain Red Art Gallery (Ottawa) and Mackenzie Art Gallery (Regina). Keith Bird is currently an instructor at the First Nations University of Canada, in Regina.
