Notes:
June Te Water was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1924. She has been an active participant in the South African art world for 65 years. She is best known for her sculptures incorporating native African woods. In 1963 and 1965 respectively, she was chosen to show her work at the Biennales in Sao Paulo and Venice. She continued to exhibit her pieces annually from 1958 through 2001. Her sculptures are included in museums, banks and libraries across South Africa and are found in private collections in Africa, Europe and Australia.
