From the Nicholls-Asikinack collection, Regina. Purchased directly from the artist circa 1982 at Kasabonika First Nation. Includes a 2017 appraisal from Susan Whitney Art Appraisals of fair market value of $700

Josie Anderson was born in 1948 and lives in Kasabonika Lake First Nation in Ontario. He is a self-taught artist who specializes in paintings which represent ancient legends passed down from past generations, as well as landscapes and animal portraits. He has also earned a substantial reputation for his deer-hide sketches.
