This drawing is a study for Joshua Cristall's watercolour "Hylas Rescued from the River by the Nymphs," 1807, depicting a classical scene with scantily clad nymphs lifting the naked Hylas from the water, held in the collection of the National Trust in Attingham Park, Shropshire, UK.
