Provenance:
Includes a copy of 1985 receipt from Craddock and Barnard (London UK) stating that "The above are original artists' etchings over 50 years old". From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina).
Notes:
Victor-Joseph Roux-Champion was borin in 1871 in Chaumont, France. In 1890 he moved to Paris and studied at the Academie Colarossi and the Academie Julian. He then spent three years in the studio of Gustave Moreau at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited paintings, watercolours, engraving and ceramics at the Salon des artistes francais. He engraved with Renoir, who created a drypoint portrait of Roux-Champion. Victor-Joseph Roux-Champion died in 1953 in Vars, France.
