Notes:
Joseph Paul Marius Soumy was born in 1831 in Puy, France. He studied at the Ecole des Beaus-Arts in Paris, under Vibert, and studied engraving and etching with Henriquel Dupont. While living in Italy, Soumy was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome for his graphics in 1854. He returned to France in 1854 and immediately began exhibiting at the Paris Salon. However, he suffered from recurring bouts of blindness, and following the death of his wife fell into depression. In 1863, at the age of 32, Joseph Soumy ended his own life, jumping from a window of the institution where he was resident in Saint-Genis-Laval, France.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
