Provenance:
Galerie Valentin, Montreal
Notes:
Jordi Bonet's career, albeit short and challenged by having lost an arm during childhood, was prolific. He received worldwide acclaim as a large-scale muralist and sculptor after his move from Spain to Quebec in 1954. Bonet believed that art should be accessible to everyone and to this end focused on public art for theatres, hotels, government buildings, airports and museums in North America and around the world. His work with aluminum can be found at the Kennedy Airport Chapel in New York, at the National Art Centre in Ottawa and at the private residence of the late King Fahd of Saudi Arabia. After his Leukemia diagnosis in the early 1970s, Bonet retreated somewhat from the public sphere and created numerous small cast aluminum works.
Most realised prices include the Buyer's Premium of 18-25%, but not the HST/GST Tax.
