Notes:
John Stone was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1935, and grew up on the family farm in James River Bridge, Alberta. A farmer and horseman, Stone was also a painter of nature scenes. Based near Sundre, Alberta, Stone often depicted wildlife found in central Alberta, and illustrated three books and created countless magazine illustrations. John Stone died in 2019 in Sundre, Alberta.
