Notes:
John Moyles was born in 1923 in Mountmellick, Ireland. His family emigrated to Canada when he was four years old, and settled on a farm near Wolseley, Saskatchewan. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War, and after returning to Canada began a long career in teaching. After retirement, Moyles moved to Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan, and that is where he began carving, creating decoys, walking sticks, and caricatures and odd characters he called the Little Birch People of Kenosee Lake. John Moyles died in 2015 at Kenosee Lake, Saskatchewan.
