Includes a copy of 1985 receipt from Craddock and Barnard (London UK). From the Gary Robertson Historical Print Collection (Regina).
Notes:
John Hamilton Mortimer was born in 1740 in Eastbourne, England. In his teens he studied at the Duke of Richmond's Academy, in London, then at the St Martin's Lane Academy, as well as studying under Sir Joshua Reynolds and Robert Edge Pine. He was known as a painter and etcher of historical subjects and portraits, as well as dramatic and Shakespearean scenes. John Hamilton Mortimer died in 1779, at age 38, in London.
